Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A man and a child were hospitalized last Monday after their vehicle collided with a pickup truck at a busy Las Vegas intersection.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Somerset Hills Avenue and South Jones Boulevard, which is just northeast of Desert Oasis High School.
Police say that a westbound 2009 Hyundai Elantra stopped at a stop sign but neglected to yield appropriately to a northbound Chevy Silverado, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Both the 64-year-old driver of the Hyundai and his 9-year-old passenger were hospitalized. The driver sustained critical injuries.
The driver and passenger in the pickup truck did not require hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
