Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A 33-year-old male cyclist died on Friday after an RTC bus struck him at a busy intersection in southeast Las Vegas.
The collision occurred just before 2:56 p.m. at East Tropicana Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard, which is just west of Whitney Library.
Police say that the driver of the bus neglected to stop for a red light at the intersection and struck the man on the bicycle, who died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
Nobody on the bus sustained injuries.
Authorities arrested the driver of the RTC bus on a DUI charge.
A full investigation is underway.
