Narrative
ESMERALDA CO., NV – A woman from New Mexico died Wednesday after a head-on collision along the highway in Esmeralda County.
The incident happened after 10:45 p.m. on US-6 just west of Tonopah.
Police say that a westbound 2024 Chevy Tahoe entered the eastbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a 2020 Kia Optima.
The 22-year-old driver of the Kia, identified as Summer Reid, died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Medics transported the drive of the Chevy to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
