Narrative
ESMERALDA CO., NV – Three people died, and three others were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a wrong-way driver in east-central Esmeralda County.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. just south of Goldfield on US-95. This is about 184 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Police say a northbound 2023 Chevy Malibu entered the southbound side of US-95 and collided head-on with several southbound motorcycles and a 2014 Honda Pilot.
The crash killed three motorcyclists at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the victims as 52-year-old Benny Hall, 71-year-old Jeffrey Hicks, and 54-year-old Frank Winkler.
Medics airlifted two other victims from the scene with serious accidents, and one person went to the hospital with minor injuries.
