Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A 27-year-old woman died Sunday after a single-vehicle accident allegedly caused by a drunk driver in Las Vegas.
The incident occurred around 2:04 a.m. on the off-ramp from US-95 to Lake Mead Boulevard, which is near Whole Foods Market and the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.
Police say that the 29-year-old driver of a Nissan SUV was likely intoxicated when she lost control of her vehicle on the exit ramp, left the roadway, and overturned.
The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Jade Ashlee Hernandez, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported another passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, identified as Risa Mattele Hannah, sustained non-critical injuries. Police arrested her on DUI charges.
