LAS VEGAS, NV – A 45-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman died on Christmas Eve in a multi-vehicle crash at a busy Las Vegas intersection.
The collision occurred just before 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of South Nellis Boulevard and East Charleston Boulevard, which is just southeast of Charleston Commons Shopping Center.
Police say that the driver of a Mazda 3 ran a red light while headed westbound on Charleston. He then swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian in the road, entered the eastbound lanes, and crashed into three other vehicles.
Both the male driver of the Mazda as well as his female passenger died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identities.
Medics transported five other people to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
