Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – Two 16-year-olds died on Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in southeast Las Vegas.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue, which is just east of Doris French Elementary School.
Police say that a Pontiac G6 neglected to stop at a red light at the intersection and crashed into another vehicles. The Pontiac then struck a pole, and the force of this second collision threw the unrestrained teen victims from their vehicle.
The passenger in the Pontiac died at the scene of the accident, and the driver died after transport to a local hospital.
It is unclear how many people were riding in the second vehicle and if any of them sustained injuries.
