Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A 66-year-old man died on Friday night after a vehicle rear-ended his moped at a busy intersection in southeast Las Vegas.
The accident occurred around 11:55 p.m. on the eastbound side of East Flamingo Road approaching the intersection with South Pecos Road. This is west of Paradise Marketplace.
Police say that and eastbound Ford F150 failed to decelerate while approaching the intersection and struck the rear of a moped, throwing the rider from his bike.
The driver of the Ford fled the scene, while the moped rider died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity to the public.
Officials located and arrested the hit-and-run driver, whom they identified as 68-year-old Kenneth Frank. He faces multiple charges, including failure to stop at the scene of an accident and reckless driving resulting in death.
The investigation is ongoing.
