Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A male pedestrian went to the hospital last Tuesday morning after an SUV struck him and his dog at a busy Las Vegas intersection.
The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and South Pecos Road, which is just northeast of Iuventus Medical Center.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian pursued his dog into the intersection, entering the path of an eastbound 2023 Nissan Kicks. Police say that Nissan had a green light at the time of the collision.
Both the pedestrian and his dog were struck, and the latter died from injuries sustained in the accident. Medics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
