Narrative
LAS VEGAS, NV – A 17-year-old died last Monday in Las Vegas after driving his Buick LeSabre into the side of a marked LVMPD Patrol Vehicle at a busy intersection.
The incident happened around 6:19 p.m. at the intersection of South Boulder Highway and East Flamingo Road, which is just west of the Stallion Mountain Golf Club.
The investigation indicates that the teen driver ran a red light as he travelled westbound on Flamingo Road and struck the front left of the police vehicle, which was heading southbound on the Boulder Highway.
Medics transported the teen to a local hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The police officer also went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
