Narrative
MINERAL CO., NV – A wrong-way crash involving an 18-wheeler killed one person last Tuesday in east-central Mineral County.
The accident happened on US-95 between Luning and Mina, which is about 140 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Police say that a southbound semi-truck entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound sedan.
The impact caused the sedan to ignite, and the driver died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Medics transported two people from the semi to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
